Voter Fraud by Trump

Trump decries voter fraud. Well, he is speaking from first-hand knowledge of the subject. But, can we believe him? Can we believe anything he says? After all, those who are counting say that he has passed 18,000 lies since he took the oath of office. I’m thinking that act might also qualify.

Trump’s fraud seems to have come to notice because he wants a boat dock at Mar-a-lago. Back in 1993, when he purchased that ostentatious little piece of homage to ego, he claimed to have no intention of making it his residence. In fact, he swore so and put it in writing. What was his intention? He wanted to convert it from a private residence into a club.

The locals did not want a constant stream of over-powered or over-sized yachts clogging up their waterways. There was, and still is, a law limiting use of inland waterways in the southern part of the state. It was alright for private residences to have boat docks but not a club, which would be used by a large number of people.

As a club, members were limited to one week stays no more than 3 times a year. Do you think he’s violated those terms? Anyway, as he habitually does, he decided that it was his residence and, therefore, he was entitled to a boat dock. His attorneys kept on returning with a steady stream of reasons for him being above even the local laws. Just scanning the reasons given was amusing, as they included a number of contradictory  justifications.

Would he try to strong-arm the local pols? Not really advisable, as they have the support of his disgruntled neighbors.

Since it cannot be both a club and a private residence. He can’t have his bucket of KFC and eat it too. It is on the papers a club. Hence, it is not his legal residence. Ipso facto, he committed voter fraud by listing it as his legal residence. Lock him up. Lock him up.

Breaking News (or maybe not): In a throwback to another fun time in the nation’s history, there is a new chant – Hey, hey, Donald J . . . how many hundreds have you and the Dow Jones killed today?

The Donald votes by mail, while claiming that it is rife with fraud and should be prohibited. Well, he finally found a case.

A close study of voter fraud found 31 whole cases in the entire country from 2001 through 2014 – that numbers billions of votes. However, there is election fraud. This is fraud committed by candidates and election officials. It appears that this is quite common. It has resulted in at least a few thousand times as many voters being deprived of their rights to vote. Instead of calling it fraud or a crime, it is normally referred to as voter suppression. Does that really sound more benign?

There is nothing in the Constitution that says you have the right to vote unless you never mixed it up by using your middle name once but just the initial at some other time. There is nothing in that revered document that says  you lose your right if you sit out a couple of elections.

The right to vote is our most precious, our most important right as citizens. When the Constitution considers you to be a citizen, it doesn’t deny you that right because you are in prison. There is an exception for one declared to be guilty of treason. Why did it leave out all these other exceptions? I guess we should be thankful to all of those political hacks that have given of their time and expertise to cover up for the errors and omissions of the Founders.

As the Constitution calls for our leaders to be responsible for protecting our rights and promoting the general welfare, they should all be spending a significant portion of their time in “public” office ensuring that every citizen is aided in exercising his/her right, particularly their right to vote. Any official putting barriers in the way of citizens exercising their rights needs to be provided full, extended accommodations in one of our numerous prison facilities.

If you found this educational, edifying, interesting or otherwise worth your time, this geezer would appreciate a little supplement to those Social Security checks, They forgot to factor in the cost of publishing a blog.
